Food porn – Seattle edition

Food porn is the category of photography that showcases real food, usually looking so good that you write down where you can get it the next time you’re in the area. It is often a subset of travel photography, People don’t need to see your pictures of the Sydney Opera House or the Eiffel Tower because either they have been there or they’ve seen them on tv or in magazines or on postcards or in movies. What they may not have seen, even if they’ve visited those cities, is the particular food you ate. There are plenty of articles and travel and food shows dedicated to reminding you that food is usually what you remember. For people who have never been where you have been, you’ll tell them of the food you had. You won’t say “Imagine the sound of the waves on the North Shore” (which they can’t do), but rather “I had the best fish and chips I’ve ever eaten in a shop four blocks from Trafalgar Square.” This blog entry will have more photos that usual, so please take the time to let the images load and click on them to bring up larger versions. Photos are after the jump.

These images are from my Seattle trip back in September 2006 (read the blogs in the archives). By no means are they all the food images I took, just the ones that might make you hungry. Come back later for food from other cities and countries.
