I’ve decided to try embedding photos into this blog (rather than just hotlinking), as it should make the stories easier to read and hopefully increase traffic. Again, I’m primarily using Zooomr, as it is free and unlimited (hopefully for a long time).
Here are two photos of the back of the napkin of Chipotle Mexican Grill, a modern-esque taqueria (i.e., not authentic). The rice was plain white, the steak was cut into building block shapes, the shredded cheese was placed between the salsa and sour cream, masking the flavor and preventing a nice melt, and the ingredients were poorly mixed (the rice was on one side, the meat all the way on the other).
The restaurant is located in a giant strip mall complex: The Mall at Robinson (Centre). How giant? It’s large enough to have a Costco, Sam’s Club, Lowes, Home Depot, Wal Mart, Ikea, a cinema, and a few furniture stores. Like any true strip mall, it will include large national chains like Target, Best Buy, Ciruit City, Barnes & Noble, a half-dozen fast food chains (McDonalds, BK, Subway, Quiznos, and a couple dozen more restaurants (both small chain, like Chipotle and Panera Bread, and individually-owned), dozens of smaller shops, and even lodging (Candlewood Suites and about four more like it). It’s so big, they provide a place to stay!
